This site has been created to promote networking and information sharing in regard to pending legislation for Autism Insurance Reform in Michigan.
Will you Help Us?
We are asking families & professionals to take the time to help us in the effort to obtain Insurance reform so that all families have access to Autism Therapies. We are asking you to do three(3) things. See blog post on Nov 21st for letter writing template.
1. Email us your stories (one page or less). Let us know how a lack of access to Autism Services has impacted your family (financially, emotionally & your child's development, etc). If you can, include your address and a picture of your child/loved one. autisminsurancemi@sbcglobal.net
2. Contact your Representative in the House and ask them to support legislation pertaining to Autism Insurance Reform. First call, then email. http://house.michigan.gov/find_a_rep.asp
3. Contact your Senator and ask them to support the Autism Insurance Legislation (Senate Bills 784, 785) that has been introduced into the senate. First call, then email.http://www.senate.michigan.gov/

As of April, 2008 this blog will no longer be updated. Many autism advocacy groups are working together to promote this legislation & our new blog reflects this initiative.
